The First Week
Workday - 8:00am-6:00pm
These first two days I've worked crazy long hours. Most of what I'm there doing is making up for what I should have done if I went in to school the week before. By the way, I didn't manage to make it in to the school last week. Yikes. Of course, now it's all a moot point. School has started now, and it's going well.
My schedule is basically what I thought it was, except I was confused about the first period. I knew I was teaching math, but I got the grade mixed up with second semester. I'm teaching a very basic grade 11 math class in first period, which I love. Most people would think that would be a dreadful course but, at my academic school, the low level classes are very small. Right now I have 9 students (out of 13) showing up. They're all boys and all very quiet. I figured my biggest worry was getting any of them to participate at all, but so far they're doing ok. The first section was so easy, I think they're warming up to the idea that this could be a math course they'll do well in.
The other two courses are "been there, done that". I can wing it in both (and have been). I love this semester. I'm looking forward to it.
